how the well. came to life
The year was 2014… I was in my last semester of college while working full-time as a reading tutor. Each day I would wash down my hot pocket and chips with a can of mountain dew. I was up late most nights finishing homework or watching tv and would wait until the last possible moment to roll out of bed in the morning. I was unhealthy and unhappy.
Fast-forward to 2020. The year our lives would be turned upside down. A global pandemic. An election year. Too many unknowns to count. In a time of chaos and challenge, aren’t we expected to fall apart? Yet, I am the best version of myself. This year provided me with much needed clarity.
The six years of transformation is the reason this brand was born. During this time, I made little and big changes to my lifestyle. Don’t be fooled, I experienced many setbacks along the way. And while I am happy with who I am now, I know I am a constant work in progress; my mission to be my best self has no end point.
the well. was created to guide people in becoming a healthier version of themselves. After two years of teaching yoga at various studios, I found myself unsure which direction I wanted to take my career. I took a trip to Colorado where I spent some quality time in the mountains. I sat on a rock and asked myself what I really wanted in this life. My mind kept circling back to community. I let the ideas flow as I wrote them out, not needing an exact answer but a nudge in some sort of direction. Ever since that day, I have been developing and fine-tuning my ideas.
Living a healthy lifestyle is not typically the norm. My goal is to bring people together and create a support system. We look at the whole picture rather than singling out one aspect of wellness. As my path up to this point has shown, changes do not happen overnight, nor all at once. Our focus is small, sustainable and realistic change.
